STCs- Federal Government incentive
Individuals and Businesses can avail financial incentives in the form of small-scale technology certificates (STCs) to install small-scale renewable energy systems such as rooftop solar, solar water heaters and air sourced heat pumps under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). These certificates are issued upfront for a system’s expected power generation and you can get a discount on the price of the system when you assign the right to claim STCs to a registered agent.
The price of STCs is determined by the market conditions and the number of STCs depends on various factors including the installation date, size of the system and geographic location.
