Her areas of research are Hepato-immunology especially in viral persistence and Clearance, Inflammation and acute liver failure, Immunotherapy and CAR NK cells for Liver cancer and Transplant Immunology.
She is team leader for Clinical transplant Immunology (CTI) unit at ILBS, CTI is a state of the art histo-compatibility and immune-genetics testing laboratory that supports busy clinical transplant programs and transplantation research activities.
In ILBS overarching goal of Clinical and Cellular Transplant Immunology unit is to provide the comprehensive diagnostic tests related to liver and kidney transplants as well as for graft rejections. In addition CTI unit is on National DNA QC Exchange Program with AIIMS, New Delhi. CTI performs investigations for determination of HLA B 27, HLA DQ2-DQ8, complement-dependent cytotoxicity, Donor Specific Antibodies, flow based assays including CD4 and CD8 ratio test for HIV and immune compromised patients, antiviral drug monitoring, Tregs, NK/NKT ratios and CD19 typing for Rituximab treatment.
She has more than twenty four years of teaching, basic and translational research experience. Till now, she has guided 19 Ph.D, DM and MCH students and published total of 116 articles and two book chapters with more than 3548 citations, since 2018 citations 2251, Total h index 32; i10 index 72, Her one article is published as editorial commentary (Liver Cancer) and one article was appeared on the cover page of the Hepatology jounal.
She has applied three patents and one of that is for A Rapid test kit for estimation of serum biomarkers for identifying critically ill patients”. Patent No. 202111058675. She was invited as faculty in European Association for Study of Liver Diseases (EASL), at London in 2022 and as visiting scientist at Department of Pathology,Case Western Reserve University, USA, Westmead Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, laboratory of Innate Immunology, NIAID National Institute of Health, Maryland, USA and delivered guest lectures at Center for Research on Inflammation (CRI), INSERM and Westmead Clinical school, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. She was honored with Bill and Millinda Travel Grant, presidential paper awards at from AASLD and Vaccine research.
She is the life member of national and international societies including, Indian Immunology Society, Indian Society of Translational Research, Indian Society of Primary Immune deficiency ISPID, Indian science congress, Indian Society for
Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, Cytometry Society , European association for the study of liver and Asia pacific study of Liver Diseases.
